IUT and KAIST GSS consider perspective direction of cooperation

A delegation of Global Commercialization Centre (GCC) of Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology led by its director Choi Mun-kee paid a visit to Inha University in Tashkent (IUT) to discuss possible directions of cooperation.

IUT Rector Sarvar Babakhodzhaev, First Vice-Rector of IUT Woosug Cho, Director of Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center Khurshid Sultanov greeted the guests.

During the meeting, the First Vice-Rector of IUT Woosug Cho briefed the guests about the activity of the university in training personnel in such areas as information technologies and logistics. The guests also received information about the university’s initiatives to promote the exact sciences among young people and created conditions for students and professors.
In his turn, Khurshid Sultanov presented the Innovation Center for Support of Development and Implementation of Information Technologies “Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center”, which was created in accordance with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan from 30 July 2017. The guests were informed that the Center was established for development of information technologies in Uzbekistan. It was noted that legal entities, becoming residents of the Center, will receive various tax and customs privileges.
Representatives of KAIST GCC provided information on activities of one of the leading technical universities of South Korea, including the Global Commercialization Center. The Korean side noted that the Global Commercialization Center is promoting Korean technologies in various fields in different parts of the world.
After the presentations, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation between the two organizations. In particular, the issues of cooperation within the framework of the Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center were also discussed.
At the end of the meeting, Choi Mun-kee wrote an entry in the book of honorable guests of Inha University in Tashkent. The Korea delegation also familiarized themselves with the state-of-the-art facilities of the IUT.
