EXPERTS IN THE FIELD OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES SHARE WITH THE MODERN TEACHING METHODS

TASHKENT, May 13 – International scientific-practical conference on Modern trends in teaching foreign languages: progress, problems and solutions launched in Uzbek State World Languages University.

Two-day event was held by the Republican scientific-practical center for development of innovational methods of foreign languages teaching in cooperation with U.S. Embassy Tashkent and Foreign languages in Uzbekistan web-portal and e-journal.

It involved representatives of the Ministry of public, higher and secondary specialized education of Uzbekistan, U.S. Embassy and British school in Tashkent, foreign language teachers, foreign experts.

In the framework of plenary session M. Iriskulov, professor of UzSWLU, Diane Del Rosario, cultural affairs officer of the U.S. Embassy Tashkent, A. Nosirov, a representative of the Ministry of public education, Nancy Ackles, a foreign expert, professor, as well as Matthew Walker from British school in Tashkent presented their papers. After the plenary, the conference participants got the answers to questions on the topics raised by the speakers.

The conference sessions covered seven areas: teaching, learning and assessment of foreign languages; foreign languages for special purposes; the use of ICT in
the educational process; factors of development of the ability to language learning among schoolchildren and others. It became a good platform for uzbek and foreign specialists to discuss topical issues of teaching foreign languages, exchange opinions and suggestions.

The event also included a round table, book raffles and other activities. Closing ceremony took place on May 14. Here, speakers and listeners were awarded certificates. In addition, they will get collections of scientific materials.
